First off, allow me to thank James Arcellana for the opportunity to join Black Hole Banter. I am excited for this chance and look forward to being on this staff. I’m not a film analyst, nor am I an X’s and O’s expert. I will however, bring a unique take to most things and maybe cause you to look at something differently.
Like most of you, I have been a Raiders fan since I can remember, for a long time… when cable TV had 20 channels kind of long. One of my earliest memories was me sitting on the floor in Central Oregon as a 6-year-old, watching Marcus Allen shred the Washington Redskins defense. I recall seeing Jack Squirek pick off Joe Thiesmann at the end of the 1st half and scoring. I remember how hard the Raiders were hitting. It was violent, but it was precise. I loved it! I was the weird kid that rooted for Darth Vader, so this seemed to fit. Since then, I’ve been a proud member of Raider Nation.
We won’t agree on everything and you won’t like some of my posts, but that’s ok. I look forward to the debate and the conversation with Raider Nation. The Only Nation of course.
Now to some football talk.
Quick Notes since the season’s end:
CHUCKY’S BACK! Let’s be honest, this is the only move to be made. I am excited, but cautious. I think Gruden and Carr could be a special combination. The coaching staff he has put together is an all-star group. Greg Olson is back, but Gruden is really in charge of the offense and Olson isn’t calling the plays, so I am ok with that.
Oh yeah, he’s also back at Ricky’s.
I hope he parked in his parking spot.
And since bringing in Chucky, the Front office did not waste any time on making a roster move when they released Former 2nd Round Draft pick of the Redskins David Amerson on Monday.
