Donald Penn embarrasses himself by getting into argument with Raiders fan
Well Raiders fans, it happened quickly. After heading into the season with high expectations, the Raiders are in a tailspin.
Rather than looking like a team who is set to compete for an AFC West crown and make a deep run in the playoffs, this Raiders team is looking more like the dumpster fire that was the laughing stock of the NFL for over a decade.
Don’t believe me? Well after the game, Donald Penn decided it would be a good idea to get out of his car and talk smack to some Raiders fans who were voicing their displeasure with the team.
So why do I bring up the dark years when referencing this incident?
Because it’s embarrassing. This is the kind of thing that is likely to go viral and be the focus of much discussion in the hours and days to come. And just like that, there will be jokes about how sad this Raiders team is. So sad that Donald Penn saw fit to make himself and the franchise look even worse than they already did after losing three straight games.
This video is evidence that this team is in a tailspin. To allow a fan talking trash to get to you at this level is just sad. NFL players have to deal with fans yelling at them all of the time, choosing to lose your cool and exit your car in order to confront a random fan who is upset just makes no damn sense.
It’s the actions of a man who plays on a team that has no clue what they are doing. All they know is that they are playing terrible football and have absolutely no idea how to fix it.
And that frustration over the horrific play on the field led Donald Penn to act a fool after the game, only making things that much worse.
Donald Penn has weighed in on the situation:
He threw a bottle at my car but I should of stayed in the car he was tryna get me to react so he could sue me glad I took a sec 2 think https://t.co/c3VqxjvHeB
Clearly having a bottle thrown at your car is a MUCH bigger deal than just a fan talking trash. And I too am glad that Penn thought twice before reacting even more than he did. At the same time, the point stands. You’re the professional, you need to be the smart one. Absolutely nothing good can possibly come from a player getting out of his car to confront a fan. Nothing.
